Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ) :

Both concourses have large tables with task chairs and table-length power strips where you can plug in and work using free WiFi! I love our airport. Check out some photos.

Atlanta, GA (ATL)
  • Gate C 24 Delta has a relax and recharge area with stools, a countertop for laptops and a line of outlets for power hungry travelers.
  • You can usually find a spare power outlet next to the new trash compacting trash cans in all the concourese. Also along the wall on either side of the gate counters.
  • Friends have told me that you can SSH out of the Atlanta airport to a proxy and not pay the wireless fee. You can find out how to setup an SSH proxy at

Amarillo, TX (Rick Husband Airport - AMA):
  • At the Lounge outside security, there are two plugs on the far wall by the Pac Man machine.

Austin, TX (Austin Bergstrom International Airport AUS):
  • At the gates, you will find wall outlets at the end of the floor to ceiling glass windows. These are placed in such a way that you can only access them by sitting on the floor, but they do (if memory serves) occur in groups of four, so you will find little clusters of people sitting on the floor near them with their laptops. Keep Austin weird.

  • Near Gate 2 there is a power outlet to the left of some seats (The east wall). You can sit there and recharge instead of sitting on the floor.

Arturo Benitez Airport, Santiago de Chile, Chile (SCL)
  • International departures, the pirate themed restaurant in the back

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
  • They have Plug ins everywhere, the Best Place I find is the Second Floor, Where the Casino is Located, With $10.00 you can get High Speed Internet for 1 day, which I find a Very Good deal. The Internet has no restriction, you are free to browse whatever you want. Plug in are located all over the airport mostly, but you will need the extension to plug into Holland (European) Plug Type. You can but a set for all the countries for 10 to 20 dollars anywhere mostly.

  • On the Second Floor above the Casino just to the right of the entrance to the SilverKris Lounge there is a set of 5 chairs which has a power plug behind it.

  • Back toward Terminal H there are a bunch of black pillars in the dining area that have plugins.

  • After security check, ask for Lounge 2 or follow signs for Gates D59-87. Next to KLM Loung 25 there is an area with chairs and tables where you can put your laptop and have paid wifi access and free sockets on every dek. You can also find fixed computers if you don't have a laptop.

Anchorage, ANC

Pug ins everywhere and free internet connections.

B

Baltimore, MD (BWI)
  • Find the observation lounge. There are power outlets in the pillars.
  • The new Vino Volo wine bar and restaurant in the new Southwest Airlines in Concourse A has tables with a two outlets at each table. It's right past Phillips Seafood restaurant.

Barcelona, Spain In TV for passangers. Terminal A, B (23 gate) and C.

Basel, Swizterland
  • Numerous spots on the wall. Both Swiss and French types. In the Easyjet gate area (gates 70-89) there are two just by the steps down from the other gates and one just by the arcade games on the otherside of the duty free shop. There are probably others further on.

Birmingham, AL (BHM)
  • Unsure of power outlet status, but the airport has free Wifi connection to the Internet.

Boise, Idaho (BOI)
Bordeaux, France (BOD)
  • Can't tell you about power outlets, but the airport has free Wifi connection to the Internet.

Boston, MA
  • Logan has several phone card vending machines which are plugged into dual outlets. The second AC jack is exposed, but you may want to bring a thin extension card because a blocky power adapter won't fit.
  • There are some tables with outlets near the wall in the dining areas (near Sbarro, Starbucks, etc.), but the cord will go across a walkway, so make sure it's long enough to lay on the ground so you don't trip anybody.
  • If your flight leaves from a lower level terminal (i.e. near the ground), there are a couple plugs behind the rows of seats. You may have to push the seats out a couple inches to get to them though.

Buenos Aries, EZE Airport If you go to the left of Gate 2 (Departures) there is an AMEX lounge. Just show them your AMEX card and you walk right in. They have a huge lounge, many outlets and free Internet Access. They also have a full bar, snacks and many other spiffs!

Burbank, CA (BUR) Bob Hope Airport; aka Burbank, Hollywood, Glendale Airport
  • Terminal 1 (UA, AA, DL) Poweroutlets near gate 1. WIFI also available
  • Two outlets next to payphones opposite gate B4

Burlington, VT (BTV)
  • On the second floor the skyway that attaches the terminal to parking garage is long usually empty and has numerous rocking chairs to relax in. The all glass structure overlooks the runways and Camel's Hump, very nice. All along the baseboard are power outlets. Wi-Fi is cheap though out terminal.

WiFi Status: Free around the food court. coming to the rest of the airport soon.

Charlottesville, VA (CHO)

  • Downstairs gates: there are a few outlets on poles, but they're inconvenient to the seats. Much better: there are seats across from Gate 1 with power at the end. WiFi status: free, works all over.

Chicago, IL, Midway (MDW)
  • The phone rooms have at least two outlets which are rarely in use. The gate waiting areas also have one to two outlets, but they are often occupied.
  • Concourse A - Power Outlet by the water fountains outside of Hudson's Book Corner. Tables available.
  • WiFi status: for pay; reception throughout.

  • Across the aisle from the Starbucks at C2 there are a couple of chairs. Behind them you will find an outlet.
  • At gate C16 on the main aisle there is a telephone sign. Under the telephone sign is a plug with 2 outlets.
  • At gate C11 there is a Arrival Flight Information sign. Under that sign is a plug with 2 outlets.
  • E13 there is an outlet near the water fountain and a starbucks 30 yards away
  • United Gates : There is also an outlet on the side of the gate checkin desk
  • Look for the ATM machines near the gates. Usually there's one spare outlet at the back. You'll have to sit with your back to the gate.
  • If your gate has a water fountain, look underneath it. There should be an outlet with 1 open socket. It might not be near your gate, but there's normally a nice seat right next to it.
  • The connecting walkway between H and K has 6 outlets next to the electric carts
  • On the left side of the door to the jetway at gate L3 (next to pay phones) there is one outlet

Columbus, OH, Port Columbus International (CMH)

  • You can mooch the free WiFi from the Continental President's Club towards the end of Concourse C, across from the Burger King, but you have to be very close

Edit

D

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (DFW):
  • One of the terminals in Dallas has a starbucks with an adjoining room that features a bar where you can plug in and pull up a stool. I think it was the C terminal. There online guide lists Starbucks near C8 and C27.
  • Two outlets near Skylink C1-20 stop in terminal C, at bottom of escalators near elevator
  • There is a Starbucks/Lounge between B28 and B29.

Dallas Love Field, TX (DAL):
  • Southwest Airlines started testing free power stations, with 5 outlets each, at Gates 12 and 14 on Ja. 5, 2007. Go to the Southwest blog and let them know you want them to expand this to all their airports!!
Denver, Colorado, USA (DEN)
  • T-Mobile WiFi leaks from the United Red Carpet club if you can get close enough.
  • Conveniently located on every big silver pillar, often right next to the end of a row of seats in the departure lounge.
  • On the mezzanine in the middle of Concourse B, there is a Qwest Business Center with about 8 desks, all of which have power outlets.
  • Concourse B Gate B33: Next to the gate door ( on the telephone kiosks ( and on the pillars with a courtsey phone (
  • Concourse C Silver pillar at gate C36 is located conveniently next to a row of seats. Upstairs in center of concourse there is T Mobile Wi-fi leaks from Admiral's club, occasionally there are some chairs scattered that you can move to the outlets upstairs.
Also upstairs waiting area near Frontier gates have chairs, some privacy and a reasonable number of outlets.

Detroit, Michigan (DTW):
  • Wifi provided by Boingo, $7.95/day.
  • NWA/McNamara World Terminal: Power outlets in most of the gate areas. You can find them on some of the stainless steel support pillars or next to the windows. Most of the gate areas I've sat in have 1-2 outlets.
  • McNamara Baggage Claim: near the exit doors at Carousel 1 (and presumably some others)
  • Smith Terminal: NEW "Laptop Pitstop" workstations are located near gates A 7, A 11, B 3, C 4, C 11 (post security). There are four outlets per station, along with a semi private booth and small desk and seat. Each location has multiple seats/stations. Also, there is a similar "Laptop Pitstop" (just a folding table and chairs near several power outlets) pre security in the corridor behind US Airways and Spirit ticket counters.

Des Moines, IA (Des Moines International - DSM):
  • Gate A1: When facing the agent stand, the wall on the far left has one power outlet near the end of the rows of seats, near the windows.
  • Gate A2: When facing the agent stand, the wall on the far right has two power outlets near the ends of the rows of seats, one near the windows and one near the concourse hall.
  • Gates C1 and C2: When facing C1, there are two power outlets to your left, one on the wall in the gate area, the other in the hallway leading to other gates and baggage claim. Gate C2 has the outlets in the same position, but on the right as you face the gate. Each gate area outlet is located close to the entry to the gate, making the surrounding seats coveted positions.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Dubai International Airport - DCA):
  • Food court above Terminal One departures. You can find outlets on just about every pillar. Also look along the walls and you should find some additional ones. There is one just to the left of Baskin & Robbins as well.
  • Free Wi-Fi in the food court (and I suspect the rest of Terminal 1). Web requests will be occasionally interrupted and the airport home page will be returned. Skype and AIM don't work; MSN, GTalk and Yahoo do. SMTP and POP3 ports work as well.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Ft. Lauderdale International Airport - FLL):
  • Gate C-1: on the poles next to the television monitors and against the wall (WiFi status:Free, all around)

Fort Myers, Florida (RSW):
  • (WiFi status:Free, all around, even reaches the arrivals curb)

  • Second Floor, restaurant (can't recall the name). In the smoking section, the tables away from the windows with floor lamps. These lamps can be unplugged and the power used. Of course, you have to purchase a food item to sit there.

Edit

G

Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina (GSP):
  • Terminal B has signs in the seating area pointing out outlets. Also, there are some along the wall. WiFi is free and available in the terminal areas.

Guernsey Airport, UK Channel Islands (GSY)
  • There is free WiFi in the departure lounges and downstairs near the information desk. There are power points (two) upstairs in the food court in a small alcove to the right of the counter (floor level, back corner). There are also power outlets (two?) in the downstairs waitring area, right corner by the windows.

Edit

H

Halifax, Canada (YHZ)

  • Find the little desk-kiosks with telephones at either end of the secure area.
  • Free Wifi near Tim Hortons, reaches most gates with desks.

Heathrow, United Kingdom (LHR)

  • Terminals 1, 2, 3: Difficult. In Terminal 1 the T Mobile wifi desks have power hidden on them UK 3 pin plugs. Also the pub next to the BA lounge has a non standard socket that works with european (round pin) style plugs.
  • Terminal 3, go to the overflow seating area behind the duty free shops. Go straight ahead as you enter the departure area through all the shops. Good seating, air-conditioned, two internet terminals (neither working) power outlet on your left about half way down.

  • Terminal 4: In bench areas, look for floor hatches in the carpet. Near gate 7 (used to be the BA Serenity Lounge) there are power sockets near the windows in the seating area's opposite of the toilets. No free WiFi, but T Mobile hotspots.

  • Terminal 5: Many ventilation columns and pilars have one power socket embedded (gate floor). Not many are really situated for use while seated.

Helsinki Vantaa, Finland (HEL)

  • Sockets are practically everywhere for cleaning staff usage, however you can use it as well. It's not difficult to find a chair next to it, especially in the area of the gates. I prefer Gate 26 because it is right after the security check and has a cafe next to it. You can also find Alexanderi Cafe which has also a couple of plugins if you are lucky.

Hong Kong Airport, Lan tau, Hong Kong (HKG)

  • All around on massive cylindrical pillars, at floor level.

  • The only ones that will work with the MacBook Pro's oversized power adapter are located at Burger King at the top level of the central food court. There is also free 24 trial of WiFi here.

Houston Hobby Airport (HOU)

  • In the Pappasito's/Wendy's food court area, there are outlets on each of the pillars.
  • In Terminal C the North and South concourses have 4 or 5 stations with outlets.

Edit

I

Indianapolis International Airport (IND)
  • Paid Wi-Fi throughout entire airport, provided by AT&T FreedomLink @ $7.95 a day or $19.95 a month
  • Lots of outlets, only some work. Working ones are marked with a blue plastic ad above them for Chase Bank that say, "This Outlet Works, now you can too" ( courtesy of Jason Pearce) or "You and your laptop can sigh with relief now" ( courtesy of Benet Wilson). Ad does change over time, so might be different. Outlets frequently on floor, near restrooms or restaraunts.

Isle of Man (Ronaldsay) Airport (IOM)
  • Free Wifi from Isle of Man Government

Edit

J

John F. Kennedy - New York, NY (JFK)
  • Free WiFi throughout the JetBlue terminal.
  • At the end of the main part of the JetBlue terminal, there is a ring of plugs.
  • In the secondary part of the JetBlue terminal, there are plugs randomly scattered about on the walls.
  • Outlets along the tables outside the International Food Hall in front of Gate 9
  • In the center of each pod of gates at T6 is a large circle bench around a central stairwell. There is generally abundant (though akward) seating and power outlets along the top.
  • Lots of outlets in T7 down by the departure gates and cafe bar areas.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, Kenya
  • Outlet in the walkway beside the row of taxfree shops. Bring your own adapter.
  • Outlets by the drinks fridges in a couple of the small reataurants.
  • Free Wifi was out of service as at Feb 2006
  • Kenya Airways (KQ) has wifi in their Simba Lounge. I wasn't flying with them, but sat outside in hall and used it. Didn't see power though.

Edit

K

Kansas City Airport - Kansas City, MO USA (MCI)
  • Check for outlets under the pay phones in the departure lounges.
  • Free Wi-Fi.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport
  • They have a free internet booth near the very last gate.
  • Also Plug-ins are available Through Out the Airport, but their cybercafe is very cheap to call anywhere in the world.

Edit

L

La Guardia - New York, NY (LGA)

  • US Airways terminal, upstairs and across from the counters, there are large white pillars, many of which have outlets at their base. Inside the US Airways Shuttle gate, the setup is akin to a business lounge with cubicles and couches, with many outlets.

  • Delta terminal. While old and well, rather nasty, there are clusters of plugs in most of the gate areas, although sometimes they're concealed by the rows of 70s era seating. You have to be careful however, a few of the sockets don't even work, although usually one of the two or one of the four (sockets) will provide power. Don't forget the technician's secret: wiggle that plug!

Las Vegas McCarran International (LAS)
  • Power spread around the terminals, some near the seats. Open, free 802.11g with email address entry to confirm reading acceptable use policy.

Las Vegas, NV, USA (LAS)

  • A wall of power outlets in a hall going toward gates C1-C25. About 10 of them, 4.5 feet up from the wall.
  • Free WiFi!!

Los Angeles LAX

Gate 120
  • One on the pole on first gate lounge along the long hallway on the way to gates 121 (at the The Qantas departure gates).
  • Various ones along the walls... no chairs, get their early as everyone charges their IPODS there.
  • Lounge far end before security, upper level. Near the pay phones, (opposite end from the MacDonalds side.) tuck in along the payphones in the back corner.
  • Wifi available in the concourse area.
  • More plugs available in the food court lounge with all the tables over looking the unways....head up escalators straight back.

Gate 23A and 24A
  • Near the payphones. A second outlet is in the little nook right next to 24A's exit door.
  • Just inside the food court area behind Starbucks near gate 24; on the left as soon as you enter.
  • On columns near gate 26 and 28.

Terminal 2
  • Upstairs there is free WiFi at the datavalet.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) (search under "H" for 'eathrow)

London City Airport (LCY)
  • Some pilars in the main waiting are have sockets in them.

London Luton (LTN):
  • groundside, on the left-hand outside wall of the Bar des Voyageurs bar: there is an "outdoor" / outside drinking area with tables. Look toward the back of this area (in the direction of the checkin area at the rear of this part of the terminal). There are at least two sets of outlets in the pillars on the outside of the bar wall.

Edit

M

Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD), Madrid, Spain:

  • On fire hose bases near gates.
  • In Terminal 4, after security control, at the corners of restroom "mini-buildings" between J58/J59 and J56/J57 gates
  • In Terminal 4, before security control, in the corridor leading to "Puente Aereo" dedicated security check, facing counters 900
  • In the Starbucks. In the back part (not open at night) there are two tables at the back with a socket nearby

Memphis, TN, USA (MEM)

  • Power outlets just past the Northwest Airlines wing (Terminal B). A couple of power outlets on brick wall and near some of the chairs.
  • No free WiFi.
Milan, Malpensa, Italy
  • Power outlet, terminal 1, check in area 1, there are some seats along the corridor behind check in area one. There is a green power plug on
the wall to the left of these.

Minneapolis, MN, USA (MSP)
  • Pay per use WiFi in most of the airport. Has roaming agreements with other Wi-fi carriers ($4.99/day access charge)
  • Gates C3+ TGI Friday's in terminal C has a row of stools and a long counter with plenty over power outlets. Food, steak and power.
  • Concourse D - a well hidden stairway to an upstairs Observation Deck. There's a couple outlets there, and pure peace and quiet.
  • Concourse E near the end of this concourse there is a D'Amico's with power ports all along one half wall.
  • Concourse F Workstation area near F1 with phone, cell phone chargers and power. weak Wi fi signal
	* Gates G1-G5. quad power outlet on wall next to G5. Was working 7/23. Not working 7/30
  • Gates G14-G16 Power located in payphone/restroom area. Strong Wifi signal as well
  • Gate G16. On wall behind pole opposite stairs.

Montreal, QC, Canada (YUL)
  • Power outlet near Gate 81 at International departures. Near payphones and restrooms.
  • Near gate 85. Along the wall to the right of the gate- behind the first chair.
  • Near gate 85. Behind the wall to the right of the gate there are three small tables- each with a power plug.
  • Near gate 89. At the bottom of the escalator- to your right is a cement pole and two chairs. Behind the cement pole there are 2 outlets.

Munich International Airport, Munich, Germany: Gary Pelton
  • Along the windows at all the main gates, there are radiator pipes. If you follow the pipes, you will see some pipes come out of the radiators and go down into the floor. There is power behind these pipes. These are standard european power sockets. The radiators are close to the seating for the gates (close enough that the power cord can reach the seats.
The Kempinski Hotel lobby (between Terminals 1&2 i.e. outside security) has a number power strips and ethernet jacks (free internet if you have an ethernet cable) on the LHS as you face reception. This is by a cafe and NOT* in the business center. The power jacks support both UK and European plugs and I think there are some US ones too.

Edit

N

Narita, Japan (NAA)

  • International: Don't go down the stairs into the departure lounge; there are only two very awkward working outlets, a few deceptive non-working outlets, plus the shaver outlet in the men's room. Instead, stay up in the corridor and find an outlet on the wall.
  • True, skip the departure lounge, I was kicked off the outlet twice in one hour. take the escalators downstairs to the arrival area.

Norfolk, VA, USA (ORF)

  • Outlets in the carpeted "wainscoting" right under the seats. Also sometimes on pillars near podiums.

Newark, NJ, USA (EWR)

  • Inconvenient but possible: some of the departure lounges near the food court (e.g. C132-133) have outlets at the edge of the carpeting on the floor. Better, look for any gate that has no huge glass wall, and drag one of the seating units nearer to a power outlet in the outer wall. Gates like C80 have some outlets on the outer wall, halfway across the row of windows, concealed behind the seats.
  • Sometimes you can sit near one of the ticketcounters or storefronts and if the people are nice (or if you seem desperate enough) they'll let you plug in. Very uncomfortable.
  • Also look on the floor near some of the seating units inbetween gates - there are at least 2 available outlets at the beginning of the C3 terminal.

Nice Cote d'Azur, France (NCE)
  • Terminal 1 In the non schengen area there are spare outlets next to the arcade games by gates B39 41
  • Terminal 2 (Air France/Easyjet) has one that I know of airside by the toilets opposite gate A11. It is hidden next to a seat in a cream plastic box. There may be other similar cream plastic boxes but I haven't found any in the non-schenger area (Easyjet to England part) so don't go through passport control until you need to.
Edit

O

Oakland, California (OAK)
  • There are several outlets behind/among the benches at the far end of baggage claim.
  • There are outlets near the gates, in the waiting areas, below the windows overlooking the planes. If you have a long enough cord you might be able to reach the first row of seats, but watch out for tripping people. Otherwise sit on the window ledge or the floor.
  • Great power plug spot (6 outlets) in Terminal 2, across from the Men's room by the Round Table Pizza
  • Almost all of the open power plugs in the Oakland airport are on the floor, they look like brass circles. Don't go scratching your head looking for wall outlets.
  • Sprint PCS offers wireless connectivity at Oakland for $9.95 for a day pass.
  • In Terminal 2, directly across from the kiosk between Gate 5 and Gate 7, there is a receptacle with two plugs to the left of the Round Table seating area. It is right next to a bench so you don't have to drag cords.

Omaha, NE, USA (OMA)

  • In the North Terminal ("B" gates), power outlets are available on many of the posts around the edge of the carpeted area, and a few along the outer walls, below the windows.
  • Since the both terminals tend to be nearly identical, this probably holds true for the South terminal as well.

Oklahoma City, OK, USA (OKC)

  • Gates 1-9, there are some power massage chairs, you can plug in while sitting in the chair. It's very uncomfortable though,
if you aren't paying for a massage.

   * There are a few in the pillars down towards the end of the gate area for the 1-9 gates.

Orlando, FL, USA (MCO)

  • In the main Terminal, power outlets with desks (and some with Internet terminals) are available right after leaving security. Make a U-turn when you see the Starbucks.
  • Also in the main Terminal, in the seating areas next to the Food Court, there are dual brass-covered outlets on the floor. Th eonly bad thing is the furniture is nailed to the floor, so you'll either have to sit on the floor, or hold the laptop on your lap. MCO has FREE WIFI!!!!!!

Orly (Paris south), France

  • After Metal detector there are tables with french outlets + Pay wifi
  • Before Metal detector only 1 outlet on the third floor at the café in front of the stairs. The have a TV and there are two availble outlets next to the TV outlet.

Ottawa, Canada (YOW)

  • At gates 1 12, and probably also 12 16, look for the pillars with the telephones. Under the little tables are outlets.
Edit

P

Philadelphia, Pennsylvanian (PHL):
  • Gates E 1 10 (Southwest/Delta): Look for the green lockers on either side of the main corridor. Under each are a pair of outlets. Also, PHL is offering free wifi in the B/C Food Court until at least the end of the year. Outside B/C Food Court, travelers pay $7.95 for a 24-hour connection. If it's popular enough, the wifi will become free, so let the airport know how you feel!!
  • Concourse C, near gate C17, in floor in walkway. There are some seats that have been moved out of the Gate area, you can reach the power outlet in the floor from one of them
  • Food Court, there are a few power outlets in some of the pillars along the shopping mall area, and rocking chairs you can drag over near the outlet.

Phoenix, Arizona (Sky Harbor International Airport - PHX):
  • Gate 10: to the right when facing the gate (2 outlets, chairs, good WiFi signal)
  • Gate A-17: on the pole near the bank of payphones (2 outlets)
  • Gate A 18: on the pole near the women's restroom (2 outlets) - chair close by!
  • Gate A 18: on the wall about half way up (2 outlets) - above bank of chairs!
  • Gate A-19: under the arrival/departure televisions (2 outlets)
  • Gate A-20: on the pole near the Gate A20 sign (2 outlets)
  • Gate B-25: on the pole beside the seating near the gate desks (2 outlets)
  • Gate D-1: on granite pillar
  • Gate D-5: also on pillar facing terminal hall. Most outlets in D are covered!
  • Wireless internet service is now available free of charge to Sky Harbor visitors. It is available on both sides of security, in retail areas and near the gates at the airport. If a passenger’s laptop computer or wireless electronic device is configured to operate in a wireless mode, it will automatically connect to the internet when powered up near the shops and gates at Sky Harbor.

Pittsburgh, PA (PIT):
  • Free Wi-Fi at Pittsburgh International Airport is now available in both the Landside and the Airside Terminals, effective 9/10/07
        * Free Wifi throughout the airside terminals; reception varies. Always good reception in the food court. No reception in baggage claim.
  • Most gates have a trash can, behind which there is a twin outlet.
  • In the terminal area, the upstairs lobby (outside the US Airways Club) has a single outlet on either side. Not much, but my experience tells me that the concourses only have outlets in the walkway - no chairs near them either.

Portland, OR (PDX):

  • The large common area right after security has a plugin on the wall over by the wheelchair storage that you can drag a chair too. There are several more outlets in the floor around there but they are recessed about an inch, so depending on your plug, it wont fit.
  • There are a few outlets at the gates: on the poles with payphones, and obvious ones at the base of pillars, and in corners.
  • The airport has free WiFi.

Plumerilla Airport, Mendoza, Argentina (MDZ)
  • Upstairs in the restaurant on the column near the windows
  • Upstairs on the pole at the top of the stairs

Providence, RI (T.F. Green State Airport / PVD)

  • Many power outlets are hooked up to columns around gates 1-6 (main terminal) and I am assuming the other half has them as well.
Edit

Q

Quad Cities Airport (MLI)
  • Outlets near the TV and around some of the posts at the bar/restaurant midway between terminals A and B.
  • Outlets around the edge of the seating area in both terminals.
  • Free wifi available.

Queenstown, NZ (ZQN)
  • In the lounge, on the walls furthest from the café.

Edit

R

Raleigh/Durham International Airport , NC (RDU)
  • One outlet on wall across from gates A5/A6, in between two seats of seats. Overall, very slim pickins!
  • Wifi is provided through a AT&T RADIUS/web-auth scheme. $7.95 for 24 hours access. Scandalous bastards.

  • If you happen to fly Alaska or Fronteir Airlines, their section of the C concourse (C 12, C 14, C 15, C 16) has a "business center" with several cubicles set up and copius amounts of AC plugs for "charging up." I haven't checked in other parts of San Jose becuase I usually only fly Alaska.

  • A Concourse at the very end in the area of A12, A13, A14 (Delta primarily) is the Mountain Room Bar. You can seat yourself. In the outside "corral" area of the bar at the very end towards A14, the last two person table, is a double power outlet. Sit, eat, drink, and power.

Toronto, Canada (YYZ)

  • T1: Near gate 142, outlets are in the carpet under hatches at the ends of the rows of seats.

Around Gate 210, there is no power - the ports on the wall are central vacuum. Free wireless is offered in the Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge, accessible in the areas surrounding the lounge as well.

  • Single outlet (local plugs only) under each public telephone in the 4 gate areas; inconvenient to seats. Gates by the airport windows do not have telephones, hence no power, but the terminal is small enough that you can sit a few gates back and plug in. No purchase necessary. Free wifi throughout the terminal.

Warsaw, Poland
  • I am not sure about power outlets, but WiFi is no longer free there as of my last visit there in July 2006. There are 3 companies that provide paid WiFi, but I wasn't able to connect to any (connections timed out, or I needed a phone that could receive SMS messages), so I was out of luck.
  • I haven't had any problems with the PlusGSM wifi connection here, in October of 2006. I connected, created an account, paid 15 PLN (for 900 minutes) on a credit card, and was on my way. Power outlets are definitely difficult to find, but considering how poorly designed the airport is, that isn't too surprising.

  • Gate D5-There is an outlet by the window in the sitting area. You can connect to tmobile's wireless network for a fee of $9.99/day. It's difficult to find a strong connection around the area of the outlet, but if you sit towards the hall you can connect.
